Project Haven Heart

Tragedy & Adversity do not discriminate .

A few years ago I lost my brother to accidental fentanyl exposure, and it made me realize how stigmatized substance abuse is, and how dehumanizing it can become when we don’t bring the awareness back to the cause .

Many people are using because they are self medicating, and the list goes on , but in my grief , I wanted to make a difference . I started thinking about all the adversity and trauma that I had experienced and the pain and adverse experiences of those around me and I wanted to do something that made a difference.

I wrote my brothers Biography , and then parts of my own before realizing that I need a bigger purpose, and  I wanted to give others the opportunity to do better involved in something meaningful.

Being a writer isn't for the faint of heart, It's words ready to bust you at the seams and rip you apart. It's a world inside... immortality in the form of art. And if you are lucky enough... with the ink, we will never depart. -Renee
